About Feathered Obsession

The brand Feathered Obsession came about in a college dorm room in 2021. At the time i was in college two hours away from home which meant i was two hours away from my dads Grading and clearing business which I had always worked for. I would come home some weekends and when on breaks to work for him but wanted to have something to do while I was at college. So one day I was sitting in my dorm room brainstorming ideas of how a college kid could make a little extra money while going to school and simultaneously fishing competitively in college. I have no idea what spurred the idea of making clothing and selling it but thats what I landed on. I had always had a passion for hunting and the outdoors in general but I had a particular obsession for chasing Feathered critters. Something about whistling wings and the gobble of a mature tom turkey just did it for me. Thats how the brand name Feathered Obsession came about.  I knew from that point on that it was going to be a long road ahead of me but that I could never shake this idea again. After that first year of college I realised that college wasn’t really my thing, so I transferred to a college in my home town where I  just pursued an associates degree in business which would get me out of school quicker without quitting what I had stared. This allowed me to work a lot more and focus on learning about my dads business. While working and going to school I started making a few hats and shirts that were mainly sold to friends or family. After obtaining my associates degree it seemed that I had fallen out of love with the clothing business and fallen in love with working in clearing and grading. I had always loved the business because thats all I had ever been around since I was a little kid. Because I was working with him everyday my dad stayed on me about pursuing the clothing brand. I really kept deflecting the conversations until one day we were on a clearing job and he threw out an idea that really intrigued me. He said, “You love hunting, and you love this blue collar work. Why not incorporate both into your brand?” On that day I found out I did truly want to pursue the clothing brand and I knew what I wanted it be, and what I wanted it to stand for. Feathered Obsession is for the blue collar workers that love the Lord and pursuing the wild creatures he put on this beautiful earth.
